On September 25, 2009 a comedy film, The Invention of Lying (formerly known as This Side Of The Truth), starring Ricky Gervais, Rob Lowe, Jennifer Garner, Louis C.K., and Jonah Hill, is released in USA. The Invention Of Lying is directed and written by Matthew Robinson and Ricky Gervais.

The film is rated PG-13 because of language, a drug reference, and sexual material. The filming was started in Lowell, Massachusetts in April 2008. The movie is distributed by Warner Bros. in North America and by Universal Pictures in other countries of the world.

The film is set on an alternate Earth, where no one has ever lied and do not know how to do that. Ricky Gervais’s character is the first man, who tells the lie, and understands its power and possibilities for personal gain. After discovering the act of lying, he milks it to become the world’s most phenomenal performer.
